WEBBER, Doris Jean passed from this life on May 14, 2017, at age 89, at St. Agnes Home.

Jean was born in East St. Louis, daughter of Gustave Adolph Hoertel Jr. and Mary Anne McCarthy, with siblings Suzanne Marie Bastow and Robert Emmett. She is survived by 8 children- Thomas Lee, Paul Michael, Laura Jean Blaser, Lynne Elizabeth Lichtenberg, Rita Marie Stevens, Daniel Joseph, Mark Robert and Alan Richard; 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Her husband of 48 years, Robert Thomas Webber, preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1998.

Her husband of 48 years, Robert Thomas Webber, preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1998.

Jean lost her daddy at the age of six, and grew up in her maternal grandparents' home. She attended St. Mary's Elementary and Norte Dame Academy, and worked as a union telephone operator. She married Bob at St. Elizabeth's, and after college days in Ithaca NY, made a home in St. Louis for her family of 10.

Jean was a founding member of St. Richard's Parish, sang in the choir for 34 years, and was a regular at Leisure Club, Canasta and Rosary groups. She is preceded and survived by countless friends.

SERVICES: Visitation 10am until time of Mass at 11am on Friday, May 19, 2017 St. Richard Catholic Church 11223 Schuetz Rd., St. Louis, MO 63146. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of giver's choice.
