Ramey, Madison L (Pete), fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Mary (Bonnie) Ramey (nee McGowan), dear father of Peter (Martha) Ramey of St. Louis, Michael (Suzie) Ramey of Redmond, WA, Patricia M. Ramey of St. Louis and David (Patricia) Ramey of Hollywood FL; dear grandpa of Brian (Melanie), Eloise, Jordan, Christopher (Leslie), Patrick (Anne), Jeffrey (Hallie), Kathryn and Michael; great grandfather of 8, uncle, and friend. Pete was born in Gladewater Texas on September 3rd, 1919. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Civil engineering degree and moved to St. Louis to work for McDonnell Aircraft. He met the love of his life (Bonnie) and was married in 1948. He retired from McDonnell Douglas Corp in 1984 where he had been instrumental in the development of military aircraft including the F-4 Phantom, the F15 Eagle and the F18 Hornet and eventually served as Senior Vice President at McDonnell Douglas over Engineering and Manufacturing. He loved his job and enjoyed his retirement. When he wasn't fixing something, he and Bonnie could be found enjoying life with their children and grandchildren at the lake house at Table Rock Lake. A traumatic brain injury limited his later years. Special thanks to the staff at Dolan Memory Care. A private memorial service for the family is planned in October. Committal of ashes will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks in memory of Pete that you offer a kind gesture or smile to someone in need.
